Successful quiz teams usually have methods and strategies they rely upon to help them through the tricky questions and themes.  Some teams will have a designated 'cheater' - although this is strictly against quiz rules - whilst others will simply rely on their players' strong points to get through the rounds. 

Picking your quiz team members based on their fields of expertise may sound a far-fetched idea but is in fact a common strategy for serious quiz teams.  If you are participating in a quiz league or are in a regular quiz with particularly high stakes, you may want to consider the members you include in your team's line-up.  It always pays to have an expert on sport (not just football, but all other sporting ventures), just as it can be handy to have someone who is up to date with popular culture and tabloid gossip.  General knowledge is harder to satisfy, particularly as it can be incredibly wide-ranging.  It may be worth finding someone who is good with useless facts, or someone who is interested in politics and history, to fill this gap in your team.
